Co-founder of production company Les films Primatice, Julie has brought an ambitious vision to the Knowlton Film Festival. Accompanied by a dynamic team on the move for its fifth edition, she has been devoting herself since May 2022 to developing a film festival for the Eastern Townships.

Laurent Bilodeau

Programming/short films

Laurent is programmer for the short film competition for the third year running. A member of numerous student and cinephile juries, he has directed a number of short fiction, documentary and experimental films. He then joined the organization of the REGARD Festival. He is now in charge of distribution for the organization.

Welcoming guests

A former director of the NFB’s Festivals Bureau, Madeleine is putting her intimate knowledge of the film (and festival!) world to good use by getting involved in the FFK organization for the first time. She is responsible for welcoming our guests.

Local partners

For the fourth year running, Joanne is generously donating her time to organize events and develop local partnerships. She was a senior executive for 37 years in the publishing and film industries.

COLETTE FERLAND

Volunteer logistics

Thanks to her commitment and organizational skills, Colette mobilizes over sixty people to welcome festival-goers and artists during the nine days of screenings. A retired teacher and committed citizen, she has been in charge of volunteer management at the Knowlton Film Festival since its inception.

President

MICHELINE BROCHU

Secretary (lawyer)

Corporate secretary since the very beginning of the Festival, has lived in Lac-Brome for over 15 years, has practiced business law for 35 years, has been secretary and board member of several NPOs, including the Théâtre de la Ligue Nationale d’Improvisation(LNI).

GISÈLE DALLAIRE

Treasurer

Gisèle Dallaire has held management and coordination positions in various sectors. She was project manager for the Festival culturel des Maskoutains, cheese maker and owner of La Fromagère Etcetera, and development officer for Au Cœur des Familles Agricoles. She has also worked as a cheesemaker for Ruban Bleu. In addition to her experience in the food industry, Gisèle has held roles in web project management at Télé Québec, IT coordination at ARTV, and IT training at Radio-Canada. She also ran her own teaching company, Info-Didact, for over ten years.

NICHOLAS PYNES

Former general and artistic director of Théâtre Lac-Brome for 29 years, during which time he was the first to stage plays by Michel Tremblay, Michel-Marc Bouchard and Dominic Champagne in English at Théâtre de Knowlton. A pianist, musician and former TIFF (Toronto) film juror, he has been a member of the Board of Directors since the corporation was founded.

DAN WEBSTER

Co-founder and artistic director of the Osheaga festival, founder of Greenland productions which has produced over 5000 music events across Canada, he is now co-owner of the legendary Thirsty Boot in West Bolton, an early partner of the Knowlton Film Festival.

VALENTIN VERRIER

Currently director of events, communications and development for Alliance Médias Jeunesse, he was also general manager of Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma. He is also co-founder of Welcome Aboard/ Festival courts d’un soir and is now President of the distribution company. As a new member of the Board of Directors, the Festival will now be able to benefit from his knowledge and experience.

PASCALE BUSSIÈRES

Pascale Bussières has pursued an acting career for over forty years in Canada and abroad, in both French and English. Between her various professional projects, Pascale explores different visual art mediums such as cyanotype printing and textile sculpture. Actress, producer, film lover and committed and inspiring spokesperson for FFK since 2023, Pascale Bussière also contributes to the influence of its fifth edition FK by joining its Board of Directors.

MADELEINE BESLILE

Madeleine has a rich career in festival management and film marketing, notably at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), where she worked from 1990 to 2011. As Director of the Festivals Office, she programmed NFB films at international festivals, advised on launch strategies, and represented the NFB around the world. Madeleine has also held senior positions in international sales and promotion at Cinéma Plus and the Montreal World Film Festival.

JOANNE LEDUC

Following her beginnings in the publishing world, first with Alain Stanké and Doubleday Canada, she joined the National Film Board (NFB) for nearly 35 years, where she was Director of the International Program, responsible for the Paris, London and New York offices and for the distribution of NFB productions abroad. She then went on to become Director General of Communications/Marketing and then Director of Partnerships and Audience Development, where she was responsible for creating, implementing and managing numerous partnerships and collaborative agreements at the international level for the NFB, including with the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, National Geographic and Gaumont Pathé.

FLORENCE CAZIER

Florence Cazier is the owner of Les Couleurs de Brôme inn, where she was responsible for all aspects of hotel services. She also worked for over ten years as a real estate broker with Remax and Sutton Immobilia, helping numerous clients in the Montreal area. At the same time, Florence taught French to high school students at École La Fontaine and at the Caribbean International Academy on the island of Saint-Martin. After completing her law studies, she worked as a lawyer in Paris.
