Dag Johan Haugerud

Dag Johan Haugerud (born December 30, 1964, in Eidsberg, Norway) is a librarian, novelist, screenwriter, and film director. He began his career with short films in the late 1990s and made his feature debut with I Belong (2012), which won several Amanda Awards in 2013. In 2019, Beware of Children (Barn) earned nine Amanda Awards and received the Nordic Council Film Prize in 2020. His Sex–Dreams–Love trilogy concluded in 2025 with Dreams (Sex Love), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale — a first for a Norwegian film. That same year, he was appointed president of the Giornate degli Autori jury at the Venice Film Festival.
