YAN ENGLAND is a Canadian director, screenwriter, and actor.
In 2007, he directed his first short film, MOI, which won over fifteen international awards and was eligible for the 2007 Oscars. In 2013, his short film HENRY earned an Academy Award nomination.
He then wrote and directed his first feature film, 1:54, a psychological thriller that won multiple international awards and was screened at the UN in New York.
In 2020, he co-wrote SAM with André Gullini. They later created REMATCH, a six-episode miniseries that won the Grand Jury Prize at Séries Mania and was released in 2024 on HBO Europe, Disney+, and Arte.
In 2024, he directed FANNY, written by Stéphanie Lapointe and produced by Annie Blais. The film is set for release in May 2025.
