The Old Woman spends her day alone in her 31/2 in southwest Montreal, perhaps waiting for a visit from the Young Woman, her granddaughter. In this in camera setting, filled with silences, tension and tenderness, time passes slowly. La Vieille is a story about love, transmission and the decision to leave.
