A Sneak Peek at the 2025 Program

From August 19 to 24, 2025, the Knowlton Film Festival returns for its 6th edition — a week full of encounters, discoveries, and screenings. Feature and short films in competition, premieres, documentaries, masterclasses, and special events will bring the Théâtre de Lac-Brome to life — the Festival’s beating heart. Over thirty guests are expected, including filmmaker Léa Pool, who will accompany a retrospective of her work, along with many directors, screenwriters, and actors who will present their films in person.

In 2025, the Festival will also shine a spotlight on the cinema of the Hautes-Pyrénées, Lozère, and the Cévennes, thanks to a partnership with Vues du Québec in Florac, accompanied by a delegation of French artists.

New this year: four films from the official selection will be presented at the St. John Cultural Centre in Bromont, from August 18 to 21. An “off” program will also unfold throughout the summer in collaboration with the Sutton Art School’s Nocturnes series and the Town of Lac-Brome.

All week long, Knowlton will come alive: family screenings at Coldbrook Park, musical films and concerts in the evening at the Thirsty Boot bar, festive events in cafés and restaurants, an exceptional cine-concert in collaboration with the Sherbrooke Youth Symphony Orchestra, and a special screening event with the Knowlton Players Theatre troupe.

The 6th edition will be dedicated to Michèle Bazin, founder of the Festival, who passed away on February 27. Long-time friends of the Festival and of Michèle are invited to a special tribute screening on Friday, August 22 in the evening.

The full program will be unveiled in waves on social media. Festival passes are already on sale — a great way to secure your place at the heart of a vibrant and friendly cinematic event, while supporting the growth of culture in the region.
