Cut off from the world in a makeshift cabin, Martin carves out a life for himself. Surrounded by a forest of spruces and piles of scrap metal, this fiercely independent loner is piecing together a new existence alongside his pack of cats. The disappearance of Junior, one of his feline companions, disrupts his daily routine and stirs up memories from the past.
Composed of life fragments and fragile confessions, *WILD CATS* plunges us into the remote edges of both territory and human nature, revealing a harsh yet striking beauty.
Guided by an almost total immersive approach, the film explores themes of grief and liberation, while questioning our relationship to marginality.
Followed by a discussion with filmmaker Steve Patry.
