Two lovesick teenagers see no reason to live in an anaesthetized, indifferent adult world, blind to their distress. The film is composed like a musical score in three movements, playing more on atmosphere and emotion than on discourse and action. “At no point did I want anyone to identify with the two characters. Let the spectators remain spectators and nothing more!”
