Erik Gandini is an Italian-Swedish director, screenwriter and producer who teaches documentary film at Stockholm University of the Arts. He has produced and directed a number of internationally acclaimed documentaries, including Surplus – Terrorized into Being Consumers, which won the top prize at IDFA 2003 and has been screened at over 70 festivals worldwide. Videocracy screened at the Venice Film Festival, IFF Toronto, IDFA 2009 and was nominated for a DOX:AWARD at CPH:DOX. In 2015, The Swedish Theory of Love premiered at the Stockholm International Film Festival and toured internationally (CPH:DOX, IDFA) and was released in many territories. He produced Marcus Lindeen’s The Raft, which won numerous international awards, including the main competition at CPH:DOX in 2018.
