Following the screening of *Replica* by Chouwa Liang, the Festival welcomes Ted Tremper—producer of *The AI ??Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist*—for a conversation focused on the major issues surrounding artificial intelligence.
A producer, director, and screenwriter, Ted Tremper has worked on several notable productions, including *Borat Subsequent Moviefilm* and *The Daily Show*. For *The AI ??Doc*, he assembled an exceptional production team—joining forces with the Oscar-winning producers of *Everything Everywhere All at Once* and *Navalny*—to deliver one of the most ambitious explorations of artificial intelligence to date. Beyond the film, he is a leading figure in the Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI), a movement mobilizing the creative community to advocate for responsible AI development and foster a broad public dialogue regarding its cultural, social, and democratic impacts.
Moderated by screenwriter, director, and philosopher Louis Godbout, this session will use the intimate questions raised by *Replica*—specifically the new forms of relationships between humans and artificial intelligence—as a springboard to broaden the discussion to the ethical, political, cultural, and creative issues surrounding the rise of AI, which lie at the heart of *The AI ??Doc*.
