Montreal-based writer-director Joëlle enjoys making films that make the mind smile. Her fiction work is rooted in the search for a poetic meaning in everyday life, which she transposes into her projects in an offbeat way, blending humour and fantasy.
She recently wrote and directed her first feature film, RODÉO (2023), produced by Colonelle Films. The film received the Borsos Award for Best Director at the Whistler Film Festival (2023), as well as the EDA Award for Best Female-Directed Feature, in addition to earning nominations for Best First Feature Film at the Canadian Screen Awards and the Gala Québec Cinéma.
In 2025, she directed her second feature film, MA BELLE-MÈRE EST UNE SORCIÈRE, produced by Attraction and La Fête.
