Ciné-Concert : Méliès & Chomon

Three silent films, three original scores, one live orchestra: Step into the magic of silent cinema during an exceptional cine-concert presented in collaboration with the Sherbrooke Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Composition Department of the Université de Sherbrooke. On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., enjoy the screening of three short films by Georges Méliès and Segundo de Chomón — iconic figures of silent film — accompanied live by young musicians performing original compositions. Each film will be preceded by a conversation between musicologist and pianist Nicholas Pynes and the student composers, offering insight into the creative process. An immersive experience sure to delight both cinema and music lovers alike.
