JURY - FICTION
Claude Chamberlan
A founding figure of independent Quebec cinema, Claude Chamberlan co-founded the Festival du nouveau cinéma and contributed to the rise of iconic venues. For nearly sixty years, he has championed bold, world‑minded filmmaking.
Dedicated to sublime, daring, and inspiring cinema! A leading figure in Quebec’s independent film scene since 1967, Claude Chamberlan is a tireless pioneer. As co-founder of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) and Cinéma Parallèle, he has left his mark on the cultural landscape by launching landmark venues such as Cinéma ExCentris, Cinéma du Parc, and the Coop des Cinéastes Indépendants.
A passionate ambassador, he has promoted our films across Europe and made a name for himself through extraordinary events (the Magnifico outdoor screenings, the underwater Dive-In concept, and a Guinness World Record for 250 hours of non-stop screenings). Still active today, this “CinéPisteur” now leads the CinéTour Québec-Cuba projects and the CinéSoir events at FisherPoint (Lac Brome).
