Étienne Galloy is one of the youngest recipients of Telefilm Canada’s “Talents en vue” program. He co-wrote, co-directed, and co-produced his first feature film, *La Marina*, in 2019, which was distributed by Les Films Opales. Winner of the Borsos Award for Best Cinematography and a Special Mention for the ensemble cast’s performance at the Whistler Film Festival, the film was also screened at several festivals, including Fantasia, the São Paulo International Film Festival, and the Dieppe Canadian Film Festival, and was in competition for the Gilles-Carle Award for Best First Feature Film at the 2020 Gala Québec Cinéma. It is now available on the CRAVE platform. Étienne has also directed several short films screened at numerous prestigious international festivals such as VIFF, Palm Springs Shortfest, Namur, Flickers Rhode Island, Thessaloniki, and many others… His most recent short film, “Becoming a Superhero,” is funded in production by SODEC, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts du Québec, and Radio-Canada; his upcoming feature film, “Le Dernier des Percéens,” is receiving development funding from the CALQ; and his short series project, “Jess & Jess”—a modern, feel-good romantic comedy—is receiving production funding from Télé-Québec. In addition, he is producing Alec Pronovost’s new feature film “Futuro,” which is set to be released in theaters in 2027 and is distributed by Entract Films.
